BEST LOCATION : - Charlie squadron is surrounded by greenery and big trees are around the parade ground as well as in the battalion area
DRILL COMPETITION: - squadron has always excelled in drill competition.

History

Charlie Squadron was originally established at joint services wing at Dehradun in 1949. It was then called King squadron
Later on the whole establishment was shifted to the present location in 1954 .Earlier there was only No 1 Battalion and ‘ Charlie’ squadron got its present name .Later on No 2 Battalion was formed and ‘ Echo’ squadron was carved from ‘Charlie’ squadron .
Charlie squadron has a very glorious and adventurers past . This is considered among the best squadron in almost every field. Drill is the soul of this squadron. This is why the squadron has won drill competition for 63 times .
Apart from this the squadron performes good in volleyball and in cross country ‘cheetahs’ as the cadets of this squadron call themselves, are always ahead in the race .
The squadron also has a good tradition to produce cadets having very good merit Who generally become Battalion or academy appointments. Since many terms the squadron has been contributing its cadets to the academy appto. Cleanliness and neatness are some other very good characteristics developed in this squadron . This is the reason that Charlie squadron always achieves top position is ship-shape competition .

Traditions

Winning the drill competition trophy is one of the proud traditions of Charlie squadron . It has won this trophy 61 times out of 105 times .
It is only Charlie squadrons tradition in whole academy to tray proper to the passing out rigs .
No Charlie squadron cadet does any punishment or any mean work in the white patrol and the blue patrol .
It is the only squadron in academy where using ante room is 1st term privilege .
Not giving table session or spoiling the food of a cadet on mess table is also a Charlie squadron's tradition .
After winning glider its Charlie squadron tradition to do push ups around the round about of the gole market .
It is tradition of Charlie squadron not to give any punishment in the “swami corridor” which is because one cadet named swami died during his course of training and hence to commemorate him this corridor was named after him.
Charlie squadron has some special traditions .We take our CSM and SCC to Charlie well to ask for mid term mood.
The first floor squadron office side corridor is called as swami corridor where no punishments are awarded to the juniors.

Latest Happenings

Charlie squadron has recently won the volleyball trophy.
Many cadets are in academy teams, Who are trying their best to bring laurels in Hexagonals and Bakshi cup.
Fourth and second termers are working very hard for camps. They are doing good in pre-camp exercises.
They are trying and practising hard for the next trophy , That is , Hockey. Both the strings are very strong.
ST-06 : CAMP ROVER
Fourth termers have done extremely well. They came 3rd overall and in the josh run, which is considered to be toughest especially daring the rainy season, they came 2nd proving that the josh is high as usual.
The tradition of doing good is swimming continued. We came 4th in Inter Sqn Swimming Competition.
Drill is our tradition and the young cheetahs are putting in trust & soul to get out trophy back to the place whose it belongs.
