Introduction
- India squadron is the 1st squadron in the 3rd battalion of the NDA.
|
Unique Features
- As the squadron is funded by the state of Punjab, it is also named as Punjab squadron .
- One of the flanks is named after the demised DCC D Mudgal as Mudgal flank. Another flank is named as maverick flank as the highest appointments of the academy namely BCC, BCA or ACA stay in this flank.
- Ground floor central lobby is named after one of the Ex-India , Lt. Col. NJ Nair, AC, KC.
- Indian Sqn is the first squadron coming in sight as we enter the academy from Pashan gate.

History
- Indian squadron won the banner during 106th Course last time.
- Despite acute illness, DCC D Mudgal, 82nd course , ran Cross country . He completed the route in fifth enclosure but his health worsened further . He was taken from Bombay stadium but he died on the route to MH.
- Punjab state had funded the contribution of the squadron, hence the state's name is engraved on top of the entrance door of the squadron.

Traditions |
- All juniors of the squadron go for viewing the movie which is screened in Habibullah hall on all Saturdays and Sundays.
- All cadets address each other by their full names and no nick named are used.
- Mudgal flank, which is named after DCC Mudgal , is unique in its self due to its history . To honour the demised, no punishment is carried on in this flank. Nobody can even enter that flank in punishment rig.
- There is no forced instruction during meals on squadron table. Every cadet can have anything he wants in the mess.
- India squadron celebrates all Punjabi festivals and there is Jazz mood in squadron for juniors during the period.
- On dinner table, a junior of India squadron is not required to sit up for a senior of India squadron sitting in front of him and he is entitled to have his pudding.
- All juniors have the privilege to use central stairs between Parade ground and Trishul Marg.
- On the evening of NDA ball, India squadron has its own INJUN ball

India Achievers |
- Col N J Nair , 16 Maratha Li , 38 – C was Posthumously awarded Ashoka Charka highest peace time gallantry award on 2nd Dec 1993. Col Nair and his party was ambushed by Naga rebels while leading an advances party in Nagaland. He displayed indomitable courage leading the assault personally to break the ambush, thus giving the supreme sacrifice of his life for his motherland.

Latest Happenings |
- Squadron hosted 29th Course Reunion in Spring term 06 and numerous visits by academy guests in Autum term 06.
- Won the boxing trophy of Autum term 06.
- Cdt. Daler of 113 - C won gold medal in boxing.
- Cdt. T Singh of 114 - C wpm silver medal in boxing.
- SSC V Vohra of III - C won gold medal in X - Country standing 2nd in X - Country during Autum term 06 and was awarded merit card for the same.
- Cdt. AK Singh of II3 - C and Cdt. A Gaour of II2 - C won 1st and 2nd position respectively in Hindi debate
- Cdt. Ojha of II2 - C was adjudged 2nd in English debate conducted in Autum term 06.
- India squadron got 2 out of 4 merit cards in PT in Autum 06 won by Sgt. B Tyagi of II2 - C and Cdt. SK Singh in II4 - C.
- Cdt. DVS Thakur of II3 - C was adjudged 2nd best in the Inter Battallion Golf Championship.
