The NDA Central Library is situated on the left flank of the Sudan Block. On 27 Sep 1994 the library was named after the renowned scholar, teacher, golfer and administrator Mr. TN Vyas who had been the Principal of NDA for fifteen years (1953-1968). Before being appointed the Principal of NDA he had been a distinguished Housemaster at Doon School and later the Principal of Mayo College.
The NDA has a well stocked library providing yeoman service as a repository of knowledge and information. The library has over 76912 titles housed in two stacks on the ground floor. The reading room is situated on the first floor. The library subscribes to 55 Indian and 11 foreign magazines in addition to 10 newspapers. Within the reading room a section is reserved for cadets surfing the internet and browsing through an updated collection of CD-ROMS. The reference section on the first floor has a unique collection of encyclopedias, year books, hand books and service digests in addition to various text references on diverse topics. The ambience of the library attracts many a diehard reader to its fold. The library in conjunction with NTT building seen from the air resembles an anchor.
